Officers 2012/2013
Worshipful Master – Jason Turner
Jason joined the lodge in 2007. He has served the office of Senior Warden, Senior Deacon, Junior Steward and Marshal. He has completed the Lodge Instruction for Effectiveness Lodge Leadership Program. He is a member of Pine Tree Chapter #1090 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Waco Scottish Rite Bodies.
The duty of the Worshipful Master is to govern the Lodge and tend to all matters Masonic. The insignia of the office of Worshipful Master is the square. Allegorically, the square reminds the Freemason to regulate his actions by the rule and line, and to harmonize his conduct by the principles of morality and virtue.
Senior Warden – Brett Beggs
Brett joined the lodge in 2007. He has served the office of Junior Warden, Junior Deacon, Marshal and Master of Ceremonies. He has completed the Lodge Instruction for Effectiveness Lodge Leadership Program. He is a member of Pine Tree Chapter #1090 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Waco Scottish Rite Bodies. Brett also serves as the web master to the Lodge’s web site.
The duties of the Senior Warden are to assist the Worshipful Master in the government of the Lodge and to govern in his absence. The insignia of the office of Senior Warden is the level. Allegorically, the level reminds the Freemason that all men, regardless of rank, title, or background are equal.
Junior Warden – Charles Looney
Charles joined the lodge in 1983. He has served the office of Senior Deacon, Senior Steward, and Tiler. He is a member of the Waco Scottish Rite, the Gregg County Scottish Rite Club and the Sharon Shrine Temple where he serves in the Fire Brigade.
The duties of the Junior Warden are to carefully observe the time and to communicate the orders of the Worshipful Master to the Lodge. The Junior Warden also serves as the Lodge’s compliance officer for matters of Masonic Law. The insignia of the office of Junior Warden is the plumb. Allegorically, the plumb reminds the Freemason to stand erect and walk uprightly, thus facing the world and the associated adversities ethically and morally.
Treasurer – Phillip P. Smith
The duties of the Treasurer are to keep the lodge’s deposits and settle all debts and pay the Lodge’s bills. The insignia of the office of Treasurer is the crossed keys, signifying that the Treasurer is the keeper of the Lodge’s treasures.
Secretary – Jimmy Rumsey
The duties of the Secretary are to observe all the proceedings of the Lodge and to make a correct record of all things proper to be written. The insignia of the office of the Secretary is the crossed quills, signifying that the Secretary is the recorder of Lodge proceedings and history.
Chaplain – Dell Bledsoe
The duty of the Chaplain is to invoke the aid of Deity, to perform solemn services and to offer the blessings of heaven. The insignia of the office of Chaplain is the opened Holy Bible, which is the Great Light in Masonry, and guides all to truth; it directs the Freemason to the temple of happiness and points out the whole duty of man.
Senior Deacon – Weldon Pittman Jr.
The duties of the Senior Deacon are to attend to the Worshipful Master and to act as his proxy in the active duties of the Lodge. The insignia of the office of Senior Deacon is the square, compasses, and the blazing sun.
Junior Deacon – Casey Holder
The duties of the Junior Deacon are to attend to the Wardens and to act as their proxy in the active duties of the Lodge. The insignia of the office of Junior Deacon is the square, compasses, and moon.
Senior Steward – Wes Teague
The duties of the Senior Steward are to see that the tables are properly furnished at refreshment and the brethren and guests suitably provided for. The insignia of the office of Senior Steward is the cornucopia, or horn of plenty.
Junior Steward – Jason Rumsey
The duties of the Junior Steward are to assist the Senior Steward in the duties of furnishing the tables at refreshment. The insignia of the office of the Junior Warden is also the cornucopia, or horn of plenty.
Marshal – Gary Middleton
The duty of the Marshal is to lead the members of the Lodge in processions and to assist the Worshipful Master and officers of the Lodge in the performance of their duties. The insignia of the office of Marshal is the crossed batons.
Master of Ceremonies – Dakota Keenan
The duties of the Master of Ceremonies are to see that new members receive proper Masonic education and mentorship, and to assist the other officers in the performance of their duties. The insignia of the Office of Master of Ceremonies is the crossed swords.
Tiler – Paul Medved
The duty of the Tiler is to guard the door of the Lodge and permit none to enter except those who are duly qualified and have permission. The insignia of the office of Tiler is the sword, which is the implement of his office and aids him in guarding the door.
